📣 Important Attendance Update for BGS Families
Dear BGS Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Bloomington Graduation School! 🎉. As we kick off the year, we want to share some important updates regarding student attendance, based on Indiana’s Senate Enrolled Act 482.
📌 What You Need to Know:
- If a student has 5 unexcused absences in a 10-week period, schools are required to hold an attendance improvement meeting with the parent or caregiver.
- After 10 unexcused absences, schools must file a report with the prosecutor.
- To avoid unexcused absences, please call (812) 330-7708 to report your student’s absence.
- If your student has 10 or more absences (excused or unexcused), a doctor’s note is required per MCCSC policy.
🩺 Health Guidelines for Keeping Students Home:
- Fever over 100°F (return after 24 hours fever-free without medication)
- Vomiting or diarrhea (return after 24 hours symptom-free)
- Eye conditions with mucous discharge or swelling
- Rash with open sores or blisters (unless cleared by a doctor)
We appreciate your partnership in helping every student succeed. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Let’s make this year amazing together! 💪🐉
With Warm Regards,
Lucas P. Calhoun
