Welcome Back and/or Welcome To Bloomington Graduation School!

Welcome to a new school year! I am thrilled to embark on this journey with each of you. BGS is a place where kindness, growth, and learning thrives.

Together, we will overcome challenges and celebrate successes. As a team we are excited to see each student's progress and achievements. Let's make this year memorable, filled with joy and discovery.

Below, you will see our Bloomington Graduation School Schoolwide Theme for the 2024-25 school year. I invite you to discuss, encourage, and use these terms with your student because they will be shared early and often around our halls.

School Supplies Are Covered

Through the graciousness of our community's 2023 referendum passing, all BGS students will have their school supplies covered.  To the left you see our excited staff stuffing Day 1 supply starter bags for each student. We cannot wait to hand them out this week!

Corporation Policy Revisions According to Indiana Senate Enrolled Act no. 185

In June 2024, the Monroe County Community School Corporation Board of Trustees approved revisions to the MCCSC Policy Manual for Code 5136, Wireless Communication Devices

These revisions done in accordance with Indiana Senate Enrolled Act no. 185 prohibit the use of wireless communication devices during instructional time.

How will this look at BGS?
-Use of wireless communication devices during instructional time (and this includes passing periods) is prohibited except in the circumstances listed in the policy and wireless communication devices must be powered completely off and stored out of sight.
-Students at BGS will be permitted to use wireless communication devices before school, after-school, and lunch.
-A student will receive a warning if found using a wireless communication device and violations of this policy could lead to possible confiscation by staff with the device being held in the BGS office to be released/returned to the student's parent/guardian.

Thank you for your support in encouraging the protection of instructional time at BGS. We strive to provide the best possible learning environment for your student.

If you do need to reach your student at any time during the school day, please call  the BGS School Office at (812) 330-7708 and our Lead Administrative Assistant, Jennifer Hamilton will support you.
